Trillian Pro, due to it's XML based architecture may be slow in loading. We have compiled a short list of tips in order to minimize the loading time for all aspects of Trillian Pro.
Hide Off-line Contacts:
Using File, Preferences, Contact List.
Check "Hide Off-Line Contacts"
When you are logged on, make sure the the Off-line Contacts group is collapsed.
In general, the least amount of items on the contact list, the better.
Remove Duplicate Contacts
Remove multiple medium duplicates where possible to minimize contact list
Minimize Message History Cache
Using File, Preferences, Message History
Either uncheck "Auto show history within new message window"
OR, leave checked, and change size of buffer to around 4096 bytes or less
Use Alternate Skin
Using the default Whistler Skin is inordinately slow in loading using Crossover Office.
Recommended skin: Aqua
Aqua is a fast loading, yet pleasant looking skin for Trillian Pro
