Though one can use a mouse to play TreadMarks, one can derive complete enjoyment from the game by using only 5 keys on the keyboard, the four arrow keys and the space bar. Those five keys allow you to do everything in the game, same as using a mouse. Well, except for turning your tank's turret; but even then, you never have to turn your tank's turret to get good at TreadMarks. Despite being released in the year 2000, there is still a small community of people who continue to play the game. And yes, mods abound for TreadMarks; over the years, players have created hundreds of mods for tanks, weapons, and maps.
