Trainz Railway Simulator 2004 Tips

Whether or not you need to patch your Trainz 2004 installation depends on which version you actually have -- the only way to properly identify which version you have, is to first install Trainz 2004 via the C4P profile provided and starting the game itself. For further help with identifying which version you have, please check the following official homepage URL  http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/default.htm  and check the Service Packs area on that site. I you find you *do* need to patch your Trainz 2004 installation, please download the required patch(s) from the Auran website and follow the instructions below;

Mac: 

Go to Configure -> Manage Bottles and highlight the Trainz Railway Simulator 2004 bottle.
Click on the Applications tab -> Install Software -> Other Application -> Select an installer
Click on 'Choose installer file' and navigate to the patch file you downloaded, then click on 'Use this installer'
Click on 'Install' to run/apply the patch file.

linux:

Start cxsetup (Manage Bottles) and highlight the Trainz Railway Simulator 2004 bottle.
Click on the Applications tab -> Install Software -> Other Application -> Select an installer
Click on 'Choose installer file' and navigate to the patch file you downloaded, then click on 'Open'
Click on 'Install' to run/apply the patch file.
