If you use Dual boot, you can run this program with NO "bottle" and run it equally well with Windoze or Linux.
Download and install the "stand alone" version. Put it in a Windows folder that is easy to find, such as C:\Chess
Open that folder and find the file called "tarrasch.ini" and make to additional copies of it. Call one aaW.ini and the other aaL.ini
Open the one called aaL.ini and change the following lines...
Rem BookFile=c:\\chess\\book.pgn BookFile=\\media\\tom\\HP\\chess\\book.pgn
REM LogFile=c:\\chess\\log.pgn LogFile=\\media\\tom\\HP\\chess\\log.pgn
REM EngineExeFile=c:\\chess\\Engines\\Rybka v2.3.2a.mp.w32.exe EngineExeFile=\\media\\tom\\HP\\chess\\Engines\\Rybka v2.3.2a.mp.w32.exe
Notice that I have REMmed out the original windows lines and added new lines that point to the location of the program as Linux view it. The line you use here will be different for your machine. Substitute your own location. Yours will say \\tom\\HP\\ for example.
Now... When you want to Play chess using windows.... open the folder and copy the aaW.ini file to tarrasch.ini When you want to play chess using Linux...open the folder and copy the aaL.ini to tarrasch.ini
Start the program by clicking on the tarrasch.exe file. No "bottle" is needed and you do not have to install the program in Linux. Simple run it with Crossover. You can also put an icon on your Linux desktop.
