For those of you that have problems setting the resolution higher than the one the game defaults to, here's the trick that works for me:
1) Start the Bottle Manager 2) Select the bottle where SS2 is installed and go to the Control Panel tab 3) Launch Wine Configuration, go the Graphics tab and check "Emulate virtual desktop" (you can leave the default resolution as is) 4) Start the game, go to the video option and select your display's native resolution. The game will adjust the window and it may still not look proper but it's not a problem. 5) Quit the game, and now follow the steps above to disable the "Emulate virtual desktop" setting. 6) Start the game. It should now run at a proper resolution
