If you jump straight into a game and find that it locks up after ~10s, then:
1. Navigate to the main menu
2. Go to Options
3. Change from Fullscreen to Borderless window mode
This should be all you need to do. You can optionally change the graphics settings and enable/disable vsync. For me, these options didn't impact the freezing, though enabling vsync anecdotally made things feel more sluggish.
