As of Crossover Games 8.1.4 this game runs very nicely. It will, however, also run with minor glitches in regular Crossover. And here's how:
Install as an unsupported application, win98 or winxp bottles seem to both work fine.
The game will not create a start menu item, you will have to start it manually from the finder or the "Open..." menu.
Important caveat once the game is running:
If your desktop is running at anything above the game's native 640x480 resolution, you will see a black bar below the displayed graphics. Moving the mouse pointer into that area will reveal the standard OSX mouse pointer. Do not click into this area! Doing so will leave you with a white screen, leaving you with the option to quit (Cmd-Q and Restore Screen will both get you back to your desktop) or literally play the game by ear.
Quitting from the described situation might leave you with the "black screen syndrome" described in a separate hint.
