Crossover installer hangs after StarCraft installation complete, SC doesn't launch
On some user's systems, a rouge process continues running even after StarCraft, itself, reports that the installation is complete. This will cause StarCraft to abort its launch without any obvious error message when you try to launch it from the menu item or using Run Command.
If you close the Launch Screen that's ready to go after installing/updating, you'll find that Crossover Games' installer keeps running, indefinitely. Open up the "Details" drop-down in the Install Software menu, and click "Cancel" next to the "Installing: StarCraft II..." activity bar. This will end Crossover's Installer.
Then, open up your system monitor and look for a StarCraft process that's still running. It will likely be using up a seemingly improbable amount of memory. Kill this process. StarCraft will now successfully launch from the icons inside Windows Games.
