Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 Tips

WMF 11 Installation #2

Here's an easier way to deal with the WMF11 redist installation. Download the Windows Media Player 11 setup package and 1. extract it with WinRAR, if you have it installed (or maybe other archiving utility, it might work, I didn't try), or 2. attempt to install it with Crossover. Either way, you should have a folder with the contents of WMP11 setup file. If you're going with #2, don't click "Finish" when the setup tells you that Windows cannot be validated. Go to you Temp folder in Windows, you'll find the extracted files inside.
Now install wmfdist11.exe with Crossover, then wmp11.exe. You shouldn't have any problems doing this. After the installation is done, the Sound Forge setup will no longer ask for the WMF11 installation.
