Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 Tips

Installing the prerequisites

Sound Forge requires that the .Net Framework, the WMF 11 redist (if you're using an XP bottle) and VC2005 & 2008 SP1 runtimes are installed before the setup will continue. Doing this via the automated installation in Sound Forge's setup doesn't work, but there's another way. Right after you get the error about the prerequisites not met, or that the autorun cannot execute, DON'T click ok on it. Instead, open the file manager for you bottle and open the Temp folder (should be either on the C: root or in the Windows folder). There you'll find the folder that the installer created, with all the files extracted in it. Copy the folder somewhere else and install the prerequisites from there, one by one, then launch the SF setup again. It should go on without any other issues. You can install the .Net Framework 2.0, if you're using the XP bottle, from the Crossover software list.
