Installation
Unfortunately for us, there's no real installation that can be had with games like Solitaire as they're located on the Windows OS installation disc. However, Crossover gives us a nice way around this. I only run Linux (I don't own a Mac), so this is primarily aimed at Linux.
Before getting started in the "installation", you must:
1) Have a bottle set-up for this
2) Put the file "sol.exe" (which can be found in the C:/windows/system32/ folder of any Windows Installation) into a place within the bottle. I suggest within the system32 folder so as to mimic a Windows installation. Note, on Linux (not sure of Mac), the bottles are found at /home/*yourName*/.cxgames/
There are two ways to run this game:
Custom Launcher (in say, the Applications menu)
Create a custom launcher and type in the following command:
/opt/cxgames/bin/wine --cx-app sol.exe
(Note, you'll have to add --bottle "BOTTLENANE" flag if you don't want to run it in the default bottle)
(Note (2), this is only for if you installed the game as ROOT (linux), if using another operating system/installation method, check the appropriate method for this in the User Guide under the Support tab).
And place it anywhere you want. (In the Main Menu, Desktop, etc.)
Or, goto:
Crossover Games --> Run a Windows Command and hit the browse button in the window and find the "sol.exe" file. Double click on it and hit "Run". You could also create a "Shortcut", but this just puts it on your desktop so if you wanted it in the main menu, you'd have to still add a custom launcher.
With that, you can enjoy the much better game of Windows Solitaire over AisleRiot Solitaire!
