SimpleOCR's (SOCR) scanner connection does not appear to work with Crossover yet. There is, however, a simple work-around.
I suggest using your prefered scanning software to scan a relatively good quality black & white or grayscale image of the text you want (300DPI should be fine unless you have really tiny text) and then telling SOCR to open that image file to translate it into text.
