HOWTO: Easier Installation if Windows is Available
Due to problems running Origin, it is a right pain to install SimCity on CrossOver. Even though they're not issues with SimCity per se, this information is provided here for convenience.
If you have access to a Windows machine (or virtual machine), you can install SimCity relatively painlessly using the following method:
Install Origin on Windows and download SimCity.
Install Origin in a new bottle.
Copy the Origin Games\SimCity directory from your Windows installation of Origin to your new bottle.
Initiate a download of SimCity in Origin. It will detect the files you copied over and no downloading will be required.
Kill EAProxyInstaller.exe once installation is complete.
