As stated before, if you're near a convoy the game will begin to lag. Since you sometimes don't know the location of some convoys you always run the risk of the game crashing. If you start to lag in an isolated area with no convoy in sight, this may mean you are actually very close to one. The game will begin to lag if you're using time compression. Your goal now is to get it to 1 or 0 or pause. The best solution is just to end the patrol by pausing the game and clicking end patrol. If you don't you'll be stuck in time compression and the game will crash.
