How to install SDL Trados 2006 or 2007 (same components installed, the only difference being some filters improvements and the support of Vista - which is at the time being not relevant). This will be probably valid for the next round of tests. A windows license is at this point needed
- Create a XP bottle - Install Internet Explorer 6 - Install Office 2003 (probably also working with Office 2000 - only Word needed) - Go into your bottle and add the following dlls:
Secur32.dll (on Wine, you have to replace the built-in secur32).
(if some of the dll are already there, you can skip them, you don't need then to add the windows dlls).
Open your regular windows and download WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-deu.exe (if you have an English windows you may need the English version etc). This is the Visual Basic scripting application.
Install it on your bottle.
Now add the Trados installation file in your bottle (and nowhere else because the licensing files will be installed there).
Copy the WinSXS of a windows copy of XP where you had Trados installed in /drive_c/windows/
Launch the installation, you may have to close manually the 2nd big window.
Once Trados had been fully installed (you got the window that the installation of Trados was successful), close crossover and restart the installation. Once your system will have been checked once more, you will be able to uncheck the box for the installation of Trados. It seems at the moment that the installation is not jumping directly to Synergy once Trados installation is ready.
