Install the game like normal as an unsupported game into it's own bottle
using the
winXP profile. Exit the installer -
do not launch the game at the
end of the installation...just exit the installer.
This title only supports a 640x480 fullscreen resolution, at 4:3 aspect. If you
have a widescreen or 16:9/10 display type or otherwise cannot use a fullscreen 4:3
aspect resolution, you will have to run things in windowed mode (Emulate a virtual
desktop) for the game to start/run.
To do this, use
cxsetup to configure the bottle, and then use
winecfg to configure
wine to run in windowed mode ('Emulate a virtual desktop');
0. Start
cxsetup1. Highlight the bottle you installed the game into
2. Click on 'Configure' => 'Control Panel' => 'winecfg' -- the Wine Configuration GUI will appear

3. Now click on 'Graphics' tab => tick 'Emulate a virtual desktop'
![](../../../support/wiki/?action=attach;file=winecfg_image3.png)
4. After enabling virtual desktop mode, you will see 'Desktop size' element becomes active => change this to 640 x 480

5. Click on 'Apply' => 'Ok' => 'Ok'
6. Exit cxsetup
7. You will need to manually edit a configuration file, to change the video
rendering driver used by the dosbox engine that's part of the GOG release.
On linux, the file to edit is....;
~/.cxgames/[bottle_name]/drive_c/Program Files/GOG.com/Screamer/dosboxScreamer.conf
Open this file in a plaintext editor -- look for this line ;
output=overlay
Change this line as below, and save the file ;
output=opengl
8. Now launch the game.
