When installing the game from scratch you are presented with a dialog asking you to install Direct X 8.1 this usually can go without a hassle. After the install of RRT3 you are asked to install GameSpy. If you select yes to this it will appear as though the install is going smoothly it will finish but upon trying to load RRT3 you will get an error saying that a file is missing or lacks access rights.
If you simply say no to this prompt to install GameSpy then the install will go with out an issue.
One more small detail I have found that a managed install of the game is non functional meaning if you have CrossOver Pro and plan to install this for use by all users then you will have a problem. You need to install this on a per user basis as of now until I can manage to see how to circumvent this issue. If anyone has any other known issues or tips submit them to the forum for this game and I will add them here if I feel they could be of use to others
