Unfortunately the upgrade window has reappeared, and it will slow down your startup DRAMATICALLY. This happened to me after I did a clean reinstall of Quicken 2012 in a fresh bottle (Mac). If this happens, be patient - it could take several minutes for the upgrade to 2014 screen to appear. Then you can either use the tip below for v.12 or simply click the red close button in the top left of the window, and that should do the trick. You may or may not see any selection buttons (e.g., remind me later) at the bottom of the window (I did not). If you see them, don't use them!
