Quicken 2010 depends on .Net 2.0 unlike previous versions of Quicken
1) Make .NET framework visible
Mac
Load CrossOver in your dock
Go to 'CrossOver', 'Preferences'
Choose 'Installer Assistant'
Uncheck 'Hide service packs and dependencies'
Close the 'CrossOver Preferences' window
Linux
Check 'Show service packs and dependencies' on the installer window
2) Install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 into a new bottle
- Name it something memorable to you like 'Quicken 2010'
3) Choose the '
Quicken 2009' option from the CrossOver Installer
4) Be sure to specify the bottle you just installed .Net framework in
5) Be sure to point CrossOver at the Quicken 2010 installer
Choose the Quicken 2010 disk (it
usually has a strange name starting with 'QW')
Click
'Install'
CrossOver will now install the following packages:
'Arial' font
msls31
IE6
6) You will need to do the registration work around as with prior versions of Quicken:
Before online update will work, Quicken requires that you register with
them. This does not currently seem to work but you can disable the
registration functionality. This will prevent you from synchronizing
with Quicken.com but will allow you to perform online banking
downloads.
To disable the registration prompt, click the Online menu and then
(while holding left-Shift and left-Ctrl) click One Step Update. It will
notify you that you will no longer be prompted for registration.
