Try installing IE 6.0 and/or MS Office before installing Quicken. Personally, this only works if I install Office 2000 followed by IE 6.0, and finally Quicken.
You might get the following message:
Quicken is unable to find one or more essential files. To continue, click OK.
Quicken installs the missing files and restarts your computer. When your
computer has restarted, install Quicken again.
The buttons on the dialog box are "Exit Installation" and "OK." The wording is a little vague, but you should hit OK.
