Based on recent tests on Mac (Snow Leopard) with CXGames 9, to get the game running you should encounter the following problems (w/fixes):
1. Install as usual into WinXP bottle. Installation into any other bottle seems to fail. Be patient; sometimes the installer hangs a bit between window prompts.
2. When you go to play the game, you will find the place the mouse pointer selects on the screen is about an inch or more to the left of the actual pointer. This can be fixed; while running the game, choose the game's "Options" menu. In the menu, UNcheck the Fullscreen mode. This will cause it to run in a window and fix the problem.
3. If you want to run it in windowed mode (not full-screen), you need to do this from the game's setting mentioned in #2. If you change CX to emulate a window, in the Wine Configuration tools, then all you will get is a blank black window.
