I just wanted to write a little on the limitations of photomatrix running on cx11.
A little history... I run photomatrix on a windows virtual machine. I was having an issue which I haven't been able to resolve (saving to tiff isn't working). In order to see if it could be the virtual machine installation I decided to give it a go in crossover (despite the fact that it's supposedly known not to work). Imagine my surprise when I managed to install it and get it running! I first tested opening an hdr file - no problem.
I then tone mapped the hdr... no problem. I then saved to 16bit tiff -- No Problem!!! :)
That was the good news. The bad news is, unfortunately, it does sometimes freeze up with an error message ( the text is missing from the message). When this happens there's not a lot I can do. So when I try to kill all bottles, it asks me if I want to kill the app - sometimes if I say NO, it actually recovers :). The good thing though, this doesn't happen all of the time. Because of this, it get a bronze medal.
I'll continue playing around with it in the hopes of trying to get this to silver status.
UPDATE: The most recent versions (4.2.4) seem to make the application run even better than before. In the past I has issues with the applicaton freezing when going through the controls. Since installing the latest, it's no longer an issue :)
