The installer for Phase Shift will automatically contain these packages, but it is recommended to install them manually and in advance before setting up the game to avoid further issues.
It is also recommended to install a library of codecs to use video backgrounds.
The best way to ensure a stable performance with this feature would be to test it to make sure it works with both your OS and CrossOver Games version by installing XviD for Windows and running the game first. Then uninstall the codec and continue with installing one of the above codec packs if the in-game video background feature works.
