PackMaster 2008 Tips

How to prevent 'beep' when trying to access menu

To successfully get PackMaster 2008 working, you need to ensure the following:
  • you do NOT install the Internet Explorer web browser (use the default built-in gecko html engine that CrossOver supplies!!!)
  • select windows2000 as your bottle type

If you have PackMaster 2008 installed properly, but are finding that once you connect to DotNet, it does not respond to keyboard events, there may be a simple solution.

I had great luck with PackMaster until I started trying to experiment more with Desktop integration.

To work around this, you must turn ON the "Enable keyboard modifiers for mouse buttons".  If you do not do this, when you try to select anything on the menus inside PackMaster 2008, you will find that the application does not respond (and the current active application switches back to Crossover instead of remaining on PackMaster).

Your config should look like the following (GOOD) config
the GOOD config

Not the following -- the BAD config
ths is BAD
