After the initial install, Origin installer will crash. It will keep doing that each time you try to reinstall. To fix this, you need to substitute some of the installed files.
Download the Origin zip folder for Origin version 9.12.0.34172. Export its contents, then navigate to .cxoffice in the home directory. Open the Origin bottle (Origin_(Electronic_Arts)), then go to drive_c, Program Files, Origin, and paste the contents into that folder.
Now you should be able to open, and login to Origin.
