Big shout out to the guys at winehq who posted the tips that helped me getting this app working.
So install Origin using the Crosstie on the Overview page. The install will fail at the end with an error saying. Something went wrong during the install. Please re-install origin. Close the error. Now either copy a latest copy of the client from a windows machine or you can download the latest files from:
