If after installation, no shortcut icons appear, just go to Programs > Run Command. Browse for the application in the appropriate Program Files folder and then click Save Command to Programs menu.
In order to add the proper icon (a default Crossover application icon should appear), open the .exe using Resource Hacker, extract the icon and convert it to an icns file. Select the created Command from the programs menu open get info and drag the new icns onto the icon at the top of the Get Info screen.
