If Notepad++ is used to edit files that are also open in another app (sort of thing that happens when using Git or software development tools ) it will crash if the file is saved by the other app; it shows a dialog asking if you want to reload but is locked up already.
solution is to remove the file from Notepad++ before you save from the 2nd application.
