If you happen to get fonts that are rather unreadable, one way to improve things is to adjust the DPI settings. Here's how:
1) Open up the bottle manager
2) Select the bottle where the "misbehaving" application is installed
3) Click the Control Panel tab and select Wine Configuration
4) In the window that pops up select the Graphics tab and it's here that you can raise or lower the DPI settings. Default is 96. I found that for my screen values of 100 and 120 produced the best results
