NI Multisim Tips

Getting Multisim 14.0.1 to work on CrossOver

1. Create a new empty Windows XP bottle

2. Install MDAC 2.8, Jet 4.0, .NET 4.0 into the bottle and simulate a reboot

3. Run the installer as normal

4. Attempt to start the application

Note that if the application hangs either on the splash screen, or once loaded, open the C: drive of the bottle and navigate to:

drive_c/Program\ Files/National\ Instruments/Circuit\ Design\ Suite\ 14.0/

Now move the lvinstruments folder aside:

mv lvinstruments lvinstruments.bak

This removes the LabVIEW instruments, but basic simulation and circuit design should now work.
