works best (and stops a starting crash in some cases) if you add these lines to your nwn.ini file
Disable Intro Movies=1
AllowWindowedMode=1
disabling the intro movie allows the game to start for people who have crashing problems when launching. For me the in game movies still worked ok, you only lose the intro movie when you start the game.
you can also do FullScreen=0 to run in a Window fine without a Wine Desktop.
