Begin with a new Bottle configured for Windows 7, and proceed to install MusicBee using the latest installer (version 3.2.6872 as of this writing) from Download MusicBee
Take care to observe that the component installs for .NET Frameworks v2, v2.0SP2, v4.0, v4.5, v4.5.2, and v4.6.2 and Platform SDK Redistributable: GDI+ complete successfully and are visible in the Properties panel for the Bottle. Decline the option to start MusicBee immediately after the installer completes.
Download archive of patched files from this link: MusicBee 3.2 Patched for DirectSound and extract the contents into the MusicBee install folder, typically C:\Program Files\MusicBee, overwriting the files of the same name which are already located there.
Open MusicBee and from the Menu button in the upper left corner proceed to Edit | Edit Preferences. In the Preferences dialog select the Player panel on the left and locate the drop-down menu for Output. Change the selection displayed there to DirectSound if it isn't already. Close MusicBee, double-click the Simulate Reboot icon in the Bottle Control Panels, and MusicBee will be fully functional thereafter.
