Microsoft Train Simulator Tips

If the game won't launch on a screen with a horizontal resolution of above 2048

Due to a bug with older versions of DirectX, Microsoft Train Simulator will crash/fail to launch if your screen resolution is higher than 2048 on the horizontal axis (Usually the case if you're using a monitor above 1920x1080)

To get around this after you have installed the game:
  1. Click "Run Command" on the right hand side of the Crossover window
  2. In the window that appears, click "Browse"
  3. Find your MSTS install directory, usually "Program Files/Microsoft Games/Train Simulator
  4. Find and select "train.exe" and click "Open"
  5. In the "Command" text box, scroll to the far right, type a space and add this to the end: -vm:w
  6. Click "Save Command as a Launcher" to add an icon to the bottle for future use.
  7. Hit run, and the game should launch.
