With CrossOver 12 and 12.5, many improvements were made to connection. The addition of Microsoft HTML Rendering Engine 7 or Internet Explorer 7 is not recommended by staff. In Office 2010 you need to install some components before you can connect to some RPC over HTTPS Exchange 2010 servers from Outlook 2010. For this tip I used the latest version of CrossOver 11 for Mac, Exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2012, and Outlook 2010 with Service Pack 1 installed.
First you need to install the following component to your CrossOver bottle:
- Microsoft HTML Rendering Engine 7 (under Community Supported Applications)
When you installed the above component you will now need to go under the Control Panel in the CrossOver bottle and access the Wine Configuration utility (or winecfg). Change the following Libraries in order to get RPC over HTTPS to work:
- wininet (native, builtin)
Now you can go into either the Mail Control Panel or Outlook 2010 and add the appropriate RPC over HTTPS information to Microsoft Outlook 2010 SP1.
Update: I noticed you might need to update your Microsoft Office install to the latest Service Pack 1. You can do this using the Install Software under CrossOver. Slipstream CD-ROMS do not always install the update properly and RPC over HTTPS won't work until the Service Pack is re-installed.
