Resizing the Outlook window may trigger an error message saying the say view can't be shown. The reading pane then can't be activated or displayed.
To reset the viewing pane use Crossover Run Command and select the Outlook.exe application, then add " /cleanviews" to the end of the Command field in the Run Command window. Run the command and the reading pane should be back.
