If you are experiencing hangs and crashes in Outlook 2007 since installing CrossOver 10, follow this instructions that may help. In my case it resolved completely the issue. I discovered it when I read an answer posted by Jack Phinney in a ticket related to hangs and crashes.
The problem apparently is due to an excessive big Internet Explorer cache folder. Outlook uses this folder to save images downloaded from the emails that contains HTML.
To solve the issue:
- Install CCleaner.
- Tell it to make an analysis and see how many megabytes your IE cache folder has.
- Then press clean.
You can also tell it to clean the registry (make sure you backup it before just in case).
That's All, your Outlook will behave without hangs & crashes (I hope)
--edit--
If you fear installing CCleaner and want to try manually clearing out the Temporary Internet Files directory, first, they are located here:
[MS Office 2007 Bottle]/drive_c/users/crossover/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files/
Look for any directories within that are of prodigious size, and clean out the contents of those folders.
Your Microsoft Office 2007 bottle will be located in
/(your home directory)/Library/Application Support/Crossover
on a mac, or in
~/.cxoffice
on Linux.
