Installing Office 2010 (32-bit) on top of Office 2007 (also 32-bit) failed, even with the MSXML 6.0 update installed. The installer itself crashed out with an unknown error prior to starting the actual file installation, but after choosing components. This left Office 2007 in a semi-usable state.
To fix, install Office 2010 to a new bottle only. I removed my Office 2007 bottle completely.
