Microsoft Office 2007 Tips

Setting Regional Language Settings/date format etc (Chrome)

Regional Language Settings can be an issue - date format etc.

ChromeOS doesn't seem to recognise that the language settings is in other regions, e.g. En_UK rather than En_US when installing the Linux subsystem.

  1. Run Terminal in ChromeOS.
  2. Edit /etc/locale.gen to remove the "#" in front of the locale you want (e.g. en_UK.UTF-8).
  3. Run "sudo locale-gen".
  4. Run "sudo localectl set-locale LANG=en_UK.UTF-8"
  5. Restart the Linux subsystem (logout and login)
  6. Check with your favourite method, e.g. Excel and see if the date format is correct. Or run Terminal and use "locale" to make sure.
