Microsoft Access 2010 Tips

Starting Access Initially (Unsupported)

I haven't tested much of the features of Microsoft Access 2010 in CrossOver, but you can't launch it by default when you first install it. Based on the tips of Microsoft Access 2007 in CrossOver at http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=3907;tips=1 you must do the following with Access 2010 in order to get it to run:

1. With your Finder on Mac OS X or your desktop environment you need to browse to the program directory containing the Microsoft Access 2010 executable (msaccess.exe)
2. Open, with your favorite text editor, the Access.exe.manifest file and delete the whole dependency reference to the AceDAO library similar to the tip listed above. It will not be the exact version so you can't use the same search string.

That should get Access 2010 to start up.
