The default color scheme places white text on very light gray background (~15-20% grayscale value) in the database view window sidebar, which is entirely unreadable. A quick fix is to modify the Desktop Integration settings for item colors.
Go to "Crossover|Configure|Manage Bottles|Control Panel|Wine Configuration" and navigate to the "Desktop Integration" tab. Select "Controls Alternate Background" and select a color with at least 50% grayscale value (i.e. the default dark gray). Select "Controls Background" and select a color with at least a 33% grayscale value (i.e. the default light gray).
Click on the "Apply" command button and restart Microsoft Access 2000. Your database view window sidebar should now be much more legible.
