The Zeiss LSM Image Browser v.4.2 installed and ran without a hitch. When I tried to open a .mdb or .lsm file, however, I received an error saying that the database was unable to be opened. My alternative on Linux was to open the .lsm files under ImageJ with the LSM Reader or LSM Toolbox plugins, although the Zeiss program has more features for easier navigation similar to that used to take the microscopy images.
