Lotus Notes 7 Tips

No Tip Title!

True the open file dialog box does crash notes. This will effect your initial setup of the application when notes is asking for your id file etc. To get past this make sure your id file is in your notes data directory - set during the install. I also editing the notes.ini file (can be found in the Notes program files directory) with my notes.id file, mail file, domino server and other database information - this skips the notes setup wizard and takes you straight to the notes desktop which connected to the domino server fine. You still cannot use the open file dialog box - but you could get around this with the ini file and also if you have a working windows copy of notes - copy you desktop.nfs to data directory in the appropriate bottle this will allow you to use any current databases you may have access permissions too, without needing the open file dialog box.
