With the release of PyLotRO 0.1.14, the need for this tip has been eliminated, it is left here for historical information. (this update 23 March 2011.)
1- One thing to remember... each time you patch ... "trust but verify" ... you need to go back to the options page and tick the "advanced options," check the Patch Client DLL value and save it again... then patch. (This is assuming one needs to use a different patchclient.dll file).
2- You can re-run the patch operation multiple times to verify current patch status. Some times you must do this as the patching does not complete in one pass -- for some unknown reason (typically a communications failure or a problem with Turbine's patch server).
3- When it is "Patching" successfully, PyLotRO will ALWAYS display

Checking files...
multiple times before it displays
"*** Finished ***"
4- Any time PyLotRO simply displays "*** Finished ***" and nothing else, the patch process has not completed successfully.
5- (25 Sept 2010) The need to use a different patchclient.dll file has been identified as a problem with Turbine's update process. The fix is:
remove (or rename) the file: msvcr71.dll found in : "drive_c/windows/system32" of your bottle.
