To install LUA plugins (a new feature in the Free to Play version of LOTRO released 10 September 2010):
It is highly recommended that you visit LoTROInterface : LotRO Tools & Utilities for Users and download:
LoTROInterface : LOTRO Plugin Compendium (Mac / Linux) : LOTRO Plugin Compendium (Mac / Linux)
This is a java version of the Plugin Compendium which runs independently of Windows. It runs on the Mac with the default version of Java released with Lion (OS X 10.7.3). The LPC automates the installation and updating Lotro Lua Plugins.
If you wish to do things by hand:
In the Finder: navigate to Documents.
You will see the folder: "The Lord of the Rings Online"; create a new folder "Plugins"....
Install any LUA plugins in that folder, in their own folders.
The LOTRO command "/plugins list" will find any plugins located in this directory, and in any subdirectories.
The "examples" from Turbine create a folder "TurbinePlugins" and another folder called "Turbine."
This directory "Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online/" is also where you will find your screenshots, keymap and UI preferences.
The "full path" is actually a link (alias) back to this directory - "<your userid>/Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online"
The "full path" is:
<your userid>/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/<your bottle>/drive_c/users/crossover/My Documents"
Note: this is under OSX 10.7.3 (Lion); CrossOver 11. If a LUA plug works under LOTRO it will work with CO.
Extensive information on using Lua Plugins with Lotro can be found at:
Updated 13 March 2012 for CrossOver 11.
