Music playback requires external program
The game music relies on MIDI playback which may not work by default in Crossover. You may need an external program running that is capable of providing this playback; in my case it started working as soon as I opened mt32emu_qt (munt) and relaunched the game. Other programs that expose MIDI playback capabilities may work for you.
