If you are using a newer Macbook or a keyboard without a NumPad, you may be unable to slow or accelerate the game speed in Knights of Honor. This is not a bug, but an unfortunate result of the game's features: there is no in-game menu for reconfiguring hotkeys, and the slow/accelerate game speed keys are assigned to the + and - keys on the NumPad.
