Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 Tips

Fixing Menus

To get menus to work properly, a -windowgui flag must be added to the runner for the application. To do this, you must manually set-up the launcher for the game and run the following command as it:

"/opt/cxgames/bin/wine" --bottle "*bottleName*" --untrusted --workdir "/home/*yourName*/.cxgames/*bottleName*""/drive_c/Program Files/LucasArts/Jedi Knight" -- "/home/*yourName*/.cxgames/*bottleName*/drive_c/Program Files/LucasArts/Jedi Knight/jk.exe" -windowgui

Change *bottleName* to whatever you named the bottle and *yourName* to whatever your user name is.

This'll have the game start correctly with menus and loading screens working flawlessly and correctly.

Unfortunately, I've tried using the /opt/cxgames/bin/wine --cx-app command, but it will not load the jk.exe file which runs the game immediately rather than Jedi.EXE which just loads that "Intro Screen".

Note, if running this in Crossover Office, change all occurances of "cxgames" to "cxoffice" to have this run properly.
