1) Download the iTunes 6.0.1 installer from http://www.oldapps.com/download.php?oldappsid=iTunesSetup6.0.1.exe
2) Open "Office Setup" click on a bottle, then click "Install Software"
3) Click the "Install Unsupported Software" box.
4) Press "Next" Twice.
5) Select the "Other *.exe file" box, click "Browse..." and select the iTunes installer you downloaded previously.
6) Allow it to create a new bottle but change the name to something appropriate like "iTunes6" without the quotes.
7) The iTunes installer will open. Choose your language, then wait for a VERY long time . It will appear to freeze with the message "Preparing to Install..." displayed, but it has not; just give it time.
8) Continue with the installation just as you would in Windows, except when it comes to the "iTunes Setup is performing the requested operations." screen select "Terminate Windows Applications" from the CrossOver menu.
9) Allow the "CrossOver Installation Wizard" to complete. If it gives an error, that is OK.
10) Again select "Install Software" from the CrossOver Setup window, and proceed as before. This time, however, do not create a new bottle, but install into the one you created previously, and do not select the iTunes installer file, rather navigate to the folder containing the bottle into which you are installing. The folder is named the same as the bottle, and resides in either ~/.cxoffice, or /opt/cxoffice/. From within this folder, navigate to the folder named "drive_c," then to the one named "Windows" then to "Downloaded Installations" then to one with a name like "{872653C6-5DDC-488B-B7C2-CF9E4D9335E5}" and finally select "QuickTimeInstaller.exe".
11) Proceed with the installation of QuickTime. Again there will be times where it seems to freeze, but it has not. Give it time. When the installation is complete, click the "Installation Complete" button in the CrossOver Installation wizard window. The QuickTime installer will not exit by itself. Once the wizard is complete, again select "Reset Crossover Office" from the CrossOver menu.
12) Repeat the installation process just as you did with QuickTime, but this time select iTunesSetup.exe" rather than "QuickTimeInstaller.exe"
13) Almost there. Now download "userenv.dll" from http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?userenv Unzip the file and put it in the "Windows/System" folder inside the bottle you installed iTunes into. The "Windows" folder here is the same one you navigated through earlier when selecting the installer.
14) Finally, select "Run a Windows Command" from the CrossOver menu, select the bottle into which you installed iTunes, and type "wineconfig" without the quotes into the "Run..." field. When Wine Config opens, select iTunes from the applications tab, click the "Graphics" tab, check the "Emulate a Virtual Desktop" tab, and enter an appropriate window size. 1016x698 is about right for me. (The window manager decorations take up some space, so for a window to exactly fill the screen, it will have to have an area slightly less than your screen resolution.) Close wineconfig.
15) Perform one more final "Terminate Windows Applications" then once it is finished, select iTunes from the "Windows Applications" menu. It will take a LONG time to load, but will eventually come up. If you have CPU monitor, while it is waiting to launch, there will be 100% CPU usage.
This is not really all that complex, I have just explained it in a lot of detail. This is basically the same procedure outlined at Frank's Corner.
If anyone has trouble understanding this or making it work PLEASE say so on the forum. I can't solve your problem if I don't know about it!
