This is part two of a multipart messages. I just wanted to make a statement on how IRIS work when I use it via Crossover on my mac. Of course not all functionnalities are used, but this is a classical use. We'll see what works well, what doesn't work.
Part 2 : The initial setup
Before any work on images, IRIS needs to be setup. The excellent online documentation for this topic, explains what to do with each parameters. The tricky one is the "work directory path". It can be set to any directory on the mac. But PCs talk about drive C:, E:, J:, Y:, and Z:, so where is my "home" directory ?
-> the trick :
C: is the classical PC C: drive. It only contains virtual C: drive information for IRIS (IRIS, Windows and Program Files directories)
E: points to the macOSX Applications root directory + some cross-over stuff
J: seems to be exactly the same as E:
Y: points to the documents directory of the MacOSX home directory
Z: points to the root directory of the Mac
So you probably does not want to use anydirectory elsewhere than in Y:
Notes that after installation, IRIS points to a "My Pictures" directory automatically created in Y:/documents (so in your home directory, in the macos X standard Documents directory)
(to be continued)
