Installing and running the Huawei Local Maintainance Terminal
Installing the Huawei LMT is a bit of a bother because Huawei doesn't supply an actual installer, but rather a bat script that is run from the installation directory.
To install it and run it
1.) Use Configure/Manage Bottle to create a new Bottle, works fine with the default Windows XP bottle type 2.) Go to Programs/Run Command.. and from your new Huawei Bottle launch the setup.bat file which is in the root of the Huawei LMT installation directory, or, alternatively, launch the Huawei Bottles task manager from the Control panel under Configure/Manage bottles... Take note that using Run Command does not currently work with version 9, you will have to use the task manager to launch the installer. In 12.0 you can use the Run command... to locate and launch the installer but you'll have to manually close it after installing and proceed with the rest of these instructions at step 5. 3.) Follow the instructions to install the client 4.) Quit the bottle using Manage Bottle 5.) Go under Programs/Run Command... 6.) Choose your Huawei Bottle, and Browse to the LMT exe file (C:\HW LMT\client\lmt_client.exe is the default) 7.) Choose to Save command to Programs menu
